In the traditional protocol of wedding, the fashion of the mothers’ gowns is disposed to the mother of the bride’s behest. She sets the parameters of fashion by buying her dress first.
With that, her choice of color, cut, and length are intended to subtly dictate what the mother of groom dress should be.
Not that she has to follow suit with a matching dress, but rather the mother of the groom is expected to come up with a complementing outfit.
In this light, the color and the style of her dress do not have to match with the mother of the bride’s, albeit the length of both mothers’ must be comparable.
Still, the mother of the groom is restricted from any mother of groom dress in the white, ivory, and champagne. |
