CATSUIT:
It is also known as body-stocking and hugs the outline of
the body from head to toe. This outfit was made famous in
the TV serial The Avengers where the catwoman prowled around
in a catsuit.
CHARMEUSE: It is a material
that is like silk. It originated in France and is often given
preference over silk because although it gives the feel of
real silk, unlike silk it can be washed in a machine.
CHEMISE: This is a short
gown but longer than the baby-doll allowing for more of the
body to be covered. It adds feminine grace as it drapes the
body loosely clinging to the provocative curves. These make
fine gifts since the problem of size does not arise and it
flatters most of the wearers.
CHIFFON: This is an
exotic material that is like fine gauze and shows off a silhouette
of the body. It is made from a combination of silk and polyester
combined with some other related stuff.
CORSET: Corsets are
made from either silk of satin with boning being used to make
it stiff. Hundreds of years ago wheelale bone or steel wires
were used to frame it up. Today plastic is generally used.
Plastic is as strong as steel but much more pliable. The corset
makes the bust more bosomy and the waist thinner. Ribbons
of lace are used to tighten or loosen it according to the
wish of the wearer.
D’ORSAY: These
are a kind of footwear worn by women. The vamp or the covering
over the instep and toes is shaped close to the toe box and
the sides are cut showing the arch of the foot.
FAUX: A fake or something
that mimes the original and is not real; mocks reality.
G-STRING: It is a tiny triangular piece of cloth that barely
covers the crotch and is held in place with narrow bands of
elastic at the back that slip into division line of the buttocks.
These are more comfortable than panties and no lines show
up through outer garments – especially if these are
fitting and figure hugging. It is the thing for women proud
of their bumps.
GARTER BELT: This is
not a pantyhose but something that is worn with the stockings.
The belt is worn around the waist or perhaps the hips and
from this hangs elastic clips that fasten on to the stockings
to keep them from riding down. The Garters are the elastic
straps that clips on to the stockings to keep them fixed.
These may also be fixed to the bottom of teddiettes.
