BABY-DOLL:
A mini provocative nightdress with matching panties that just
about comes down to the bottom.
BODY-STOCKING: It is
a one-piece suit hugging the body from the top to the toe.
Generally these are tailored from sheer lace or net. Catwoman
and Diana Rigg made this catsuit famous in the 1960’s
popular TV serial The Avengers.
BODY-SUIT: In the world
of lingerie it is akin to a swimsuit but with a snap crotch.
It serves as an alternative to the camisole and always stays
tucked away.
BONING: Strips of plastic
are fitted inside corsets to give a bustier look to the wearer.
It flatters the shape. Before plastics appeared on the scene,
bones from whales were used to hold in the waistline and make
the breasts fuller by giving it a push from below. Today plastic
has replaced fish bone.
BOY-SHORTS: It is a
garment for women but looks like men’s briefs. These
are comfortable, cute and square. The rise is low and the
legs have wide cuts. These are perfect for those who want
to avoid thongs or expose a visible panty line.
BURN-OUT: The fabric
oozes with sex appeal it being semi transparent having opaque
designs. Some amount of the skin is exposed to tease and provoke.
BRAS (DEMI OR HALF-BARA):
These brassieres cover the lower part of the breasts leaving
the nipples exposed. It gives the impression that the wearer
is not wearing a bra when worn under dresses with low cleavage
or fitting clothes. Push-up-bra lifts the breasts upwards
to show off a tantalizing cleft. Half circles cut out of metal
wires are placed in the bra to give the support to the breasts
by making them look fuller. The latter is known as underwire-bra.
Another kind of bra known as the shelf-bra provides a shelf
for each breast to rest on. The nipples and upper portions
are left open. All these bras create the illusion of the wearer
not wearing anything underneath the dress.
BUSTIEIRS: These are
kind of corsets or a bra that goes down the body to provide
the necessary support contrasting the slim waist with a full
bosom. These can be worn with a jacket but also looks fine
with stockings fitted with garters. It gives the look of the
French Monmarte Can-Can look.
CAMISOLE: Made of silky
material it is a loose top that can be compared to a short
slip. Previously it was an underwear but now it has been upgraded
to be a dress by its own right. These are worn for casual
but sophisticated night-outs matched with jeans and blazers.
A pair of matching tap pants will also look great making the
suit ideal to sleep in.
